 +<code>Recommended Visit Duration
 +
+    Quick visit: 45–60 minutes (focus on Michelangelo)
+    Standard visit: 1–1.5 hours (recommended)
 +    Relaxed / detailed: 1.5–2 hours
 +
 +Suggested Route (1–1.5 hours)
 +
+    Hall of the Colossus (5–10 min)
+    Start here after entering. Look at the large plaster casts and early works.
+    Hall of the Prisoners (Galleria dei Prigioni) (15–20 min)
+    Michelangelo’s four unfinished Prisoners/Slaves (Atlas, Bearded, Young, and Awakening). These dramatically show his “non-finito” technique — figures emerging from the marble. Also see the unfinished Saint Matthew.
+    The Tribune (Tribuna del David) (20–30 min)
+    The highlight: Michelangelo’s David (1501–1504). Walk around the entire statue to appreciate the anatomy, expression, and details from every angle. This is the original marble (a copy stands in Piazza della Signoria).
+    Gipsoteca Bartolini (optional, 10 min)
+    Collection of 19th-century plaster casts — interesting if you have extra time.
+    Musical Instruments Collection (10–15 min)
+    Historic instruments from the Medici and Lorraine collections, including rare pieces (some linked to Stradivari and early pianos).
 +    Painting Galleries (10–15 min)
+    Works by Florentine masters from the 13th–16th centuries (Botticelli, Perugino, Filippino Lippi, etc.). These are secondary for most visitors but worth a quick look.
 +
 +Practical Information (2026)
 +
+    Opening hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 8:15 AM – 6:50 PM (last entry ~6:20 PM). Closed Mondays.
+    Tickets: Standard ≈ €16–€20 (plus booking fee if reserved online). Strongly book timed-entry tickets in advance.
+    Best time: First entry slot (8:15 AM) for fewer crowds around David, or late afternoon.
+    Location: Via Ricasoli 58–60 (a short walk north of the Duomo).
 +
 +Tips
 +
+    Book timed tickets online in advance — walk-up queues can be 1–2 hours in peak season.
+    Photography is generally allowed (no flash).
+    Large bags are not permitted; there is limited or no cloakroom.
+    Pair it easily with the Duomo area or the Uffizi (do Accademia in the morning, Uffizi in the afternoon).
